About My Clients

I work with families and individuals who are experiencing challenges and needing support to thrive. I love helping children find their groove, helping adolescents and adults reach their goals, and helping families get along better.

My Background and Approach

I integrate a number of approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), and brainspotting. I am a certified PCIT therapist and within-agency trainer, and I am focused on implementing culturally humble adaptations of evidence-based practices.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Therapy is a creative and collaborative process. I believe in building a safe, nurturing relationship from which healing and learning can occur. I also believe that clients determine their path of growth and recovery, and that neurodivergence is to be celebrated. I follow my client’s strengths and interests in building skills and capabilities.

At present, I am collecting post-doc hours under the supervision of Dr. Chin-He Bae. I am also teaching part-time as an Adjunct Faculty at Pepperdine University.

I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University, my masters in Psychology in Education (clinical psychology) from Teachers College Columbia University, and my bachelors of arts (psychology) from University of British Columbia. I completed my predoctoral residency at Asian Pacific Family Center (APFC), a subsidiary of Pacifics Clinics in Los Angeles. My pre-doctoral focus has been primarily on children and families, though I have enjoyed working with individuals across the lifespan (i.e., adults, elderly). I am most passionate about working with marginalized, underserved, and disenfranchised communities, including the Asian American community. I am fluent in Mandarin and know some Cantonese, Japanese, and Indonesian.

大家好! 我熱愛幫助人們達到期盼的生活形式和心理狀態. 我希望大家在生活的挑戰中掙扎時都能得到他們需要的支助和鼓勵. 若你肯投入嘗試, 我相信我們定能合作改善你的情況.
